Debunked Rumors

Sir Sean Connery:
In an official press release on IndianaJones.com Sean Connery announced that he won't return to Indiana Jones 4. Sir Connery explains:
"Retirement is just too damned much fun. I, do however, have one bit of advice for Junior: Demand that the critters be digital, the cliffs be low, and for goodness sake keep that whip by your side at all times in case you need to escape from the stunt coordinator! This is a remarkable cast, and I can only say, 'Break a leg, everyone.' I'll see you on May 22, 2008, at the theater!"

John Rhys-Davies:
He has been Indy's sidekick in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade but he won't make another appearance in the fourth Indy film. John has never been approached about a possible return.

Virginia Madsen:
Virginia Madsen so impressed co-star Harrison Ford in their thriller Firewall that she was once mentioned as the frontrunner to play his love interest in the fourth film. Harrison Ford himself expressed his hopes that "she'll come over for Indiana Jones" in February 2006. But the casting of Cate Blanchett and the return of Karen Allen there is no room left for a third female lead.

Natalie Portman:
After six year of rumors that she would be in Indy 4 and play Indy's supposed daughter, George Lucas directly debunked this during a video interview with IESB.net in March 2007. When asked if Portman would be a part of Indiana Jones 4, Lucas answered: "No. Absolutely not."

Scarlett Johansson:
In March 2005 an unnamed source had spread the news that Johansson could appear as Indy’s female sidekick in the fourth Indiana Jones film.
This was quickly debunked by Scarlett Johansson’s agent who told that this was absolutely not true!
