2013

January 28, 2013
Kathleen Kennedy: "It takes me out of the mix for a little bit, but not for very long because in addition to Star Wars thereís Indiana Jones and Steven is very much a part of that. So who knows."

January 30, 2013
Steven Spielberg: "I will not make another Indiana Jones film unless it's based on George's story." Lucas intends for that to happen, says Spielberg, though the timetable is unclear. "Kathy and I will figure out some way to work together again. She has a five-year contract."

March 13, 2013
Steven Spielberg: "Yes! I can imagine doing another one. I'm excited and impatient to do one but George Lucas just recently retired - I'm hoping that his retirement will not mean he's retiring the Indiana Jones bull whip and fedora cap. I'm hoping that George will stay active in the Indiana Jones world and come up with a story. I let George do the stories. I supervise the screenplays and I direct them but George always comes up with the basic story - and he has not done that yet. But he keeps promising he's going to, so let's see. I can imagine almost anything - but I can only imagine one film at a time! I can't think that far ahead. I can only imagine the next one being with Harrison. Beyond that, I can't think."

March 27, 2013
Harrison Ford: "It might be nice, depending on the circumstances, to revisit any one of those characters. What interests me now is the opportunity to work at all and to work in ambitious projects. So I can't think that way. What I'm looking for is the next opportunity, the next ambitious opportunity. And so it doesn't matter if it's one of those. If it is, great. If it's not, that's fine too."

April 10, 2013
Harrison Ford: "I don't know. I'm not so good at predictions but it would be something I would be ambitious to do if the script were right. And the circumstances."

June 13, 2013
Steven Spielberg: "I'm happy to direct for George. If George decides to make another one, I'll be happy to shoot it."
Lucas countered that he didn't hold the power, saying that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy will make the call.
George Lucas: "I'm just a lowly writer. I mean, I won't even be a writer, I'm just the guy that comes up with the story. And I've been working on a story. You know the issue is that now it's owned by Disney and Paramount, and I don't know how they're going to work that out."

July 18, 2013
Harrison Ford: "Would I? Yeah, I would be happy to do another. If we came up with a good script I'd be happy to do it."

July 18, 2013
Harrison Ford: "It's a case-by-case basis. I'd like to see a really good script and like to make a really good movie."

August 6, 2013
Harrison Ford: "We've seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it's perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn't necessarily have to kick as much ass. To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do."

August 15, 2013
Harrison Ford: "It's not up to me, really. We're, I know George is working on a, George Lucas is working on an idea or two, and if it comes to fruition I'd love to play the character again."

September 21, 2013
Karen Allen: "I was grateful we had a second time to work together, and it looks like we might get a third time to work together. Nothing has been decided."

October 5, 2013
Harrison Ford: "There's a germ of an idea but it'll take, it's going to take a while."

October 7, 2013
Harrison Ford: "George Lucas just got married, he has a new young baby in his family, and he's got other things to apply his energy and his time to. I hope that he'll come up with a germ of an i, of a story that we can, that we can make another one, like, only because I'd love to do another."

October 10, 2013
Harrison Ford: "In a New York minute, yes. I donít think there is any barrier to Indiana Jones being an old fart. It's okay. I mean we've seen him all stages of his life. Why not, I'm old enough that we don't need Connery any more, I'm old enough to play my own father! I used to enjoy physical acting, it was fun. I was more fond of it then than I am now and people don't ask me to do it that much any more."

October 22, 2013
Steven Spielberg: "Yes, Indy 5 will be on Earth, from the planet Earth. And the people who make it will be from planet Earth."

October 22, 2013
DAILY SUPERHERO: Disney is actively talking about the possibility of an Indiana Jones 5 with Harrison Ford.
Paramount still holds the distribution rights for the franchise. Disney wants those rights back but Paramount is holding onto them tightly, as of right now. This could change or Disney could just work with Paramount.
An employee who works for Disney Parks said, regarding the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, "No changes are being made to it right now because Disney is trying to be active with the franchise."

October 24, 2013
Harrison Ford: "Oh, that's, you know, that's, that's down the line. George Lucas just got married, he's got a new baby in the family, he's got other things to do besides sit down and try and figure out a new Indiana Jones. There have been a couple of germs of ideas, and you know, the last one took 25 years or something, 20 years to come together, so I'm happy to wait. He's got the whip in his garage. Oh, I guess I suppose I have a whip somewhere, a musical whip."

October 27, 2013
JEDI NEWS: Ford wanted a commitment to Indy 5. He did not get this as there is no plot line or script in place. What did happen was an agreement was made wherein an outline would be developed by the end of calendar year 2014, and if all parties can agree to it moving forward, efforts would be made to move on Indy 5 for release before the end of 2016.
Disney wanted a multi film deal with Ford which transcends Episode 7. This has now been agreed.

October 27, 2013
Harrison Ford: "I love my work and I would continue to look for things that have the potential to be engaging and successful, whether itís the first time itís been done or the fifth time itís been done. What I always looked for in the Indiana Jones films was that we advanced the notion of the character and the audienceís understanding of the character from each film to the next in an ambitious way... The potential to build on the audienceís knowledge of a character, you can take advantage of that, I think, if youíre ambitious."

October 28, 2013
Harrison Ford: "Um... not yet! But if it did, Iíd be happy to be involved."

November 5, 2013
Harrison Ford: "I would love to do another Indiana Jones movie. You know I don't have [the hat and whip] at home, but I think I know where I can find them. And, you know it wants only for George Lucas to generate the germ of the story it would all have confidence in, but it's not yet happened. But I think it's worth revisiting the character even at this age. So I would be very happy to do another one of Indiana Jones."

November 5, 2013
Harrison Ford [translated]: "Some would like it if time stops and that we don't touch these historical heroes. Should they continue to exist? Do we really want to meet them again today? I understand all the points of view, but me, I'm addicted to them! If a project is ambitious, if the people involved seem talented to me, there are big chances that I'll succumb to the temptation. It just means that I'm not forbidding myself from it."

November 10, 2013
Harrison Ford [translated]: "Script problems. But I am afraid that the train has passed. Indiana Jones is based on me, and I can no longer do certain things as before, while kept in shape."

November 16, 2013
John Williams: "Iím quite a bit older than [Spielberg]. Itís been, for whatever reason, always a wonderful relationship. Since he is younger than I am, I will try to keep up with him, do the music for Indiana Jones 5."

December 6, 2013
VARIETY: The Walt Disney Studios and Paramount Pictures have reached a distribution and marketing agreement for the Indiana Jones franchise. Under the arrangement, Disney gains distribution and marketing rights to future films, in addition to retaining the ownership rights it secured when it acquired Lucasfilm. Paramount will continue to be responsible for distribution of the first four films in the franchise and will receive a financial participation on any future films that are produced and released.
Sources say that Steven Spielberg, who directed the previous films, would still be interested in helming future pics but, like with the other installments, a story would first need to be hashed out before Spielberg would ever commit. Insiders also added that while George Lucas has sold his stake in Lucasfilm to Disney, he still may have a part in developing the story like he and Spielberg had done in the past.

December 9, 2013
Frank Marshall: "A bit strange sitting in the Indiana Jones office in the Lucasfilm office on the Disney lot, but I'm sure I'll get used to it."

December 13, 2013
Alan Horn: It will be at least two to three years. "We havenít done anything. We donít have a story. We need a story. We are proceeding as the folks who own the company, but heís George Lucas and Iím sure weíll be in conversations with him."
