TSR
was a company that dominated the role-playing
market during the 70's and 80's with Dungeons & Dragons. Their
Indiana Jones role-playing series started
right after Indiana Jones and the Temple
of Doom in 1984. The source of
the many adventures was the good old Marvel
comic series The Further Adventures of
Indiana Jones.
TSR also released a Minatures Box in 1984. The box contained 12 unpainted metal (pewter)
2.5 cm minatures of Indiana Jones, Marion, Sallah,
Willie Scott, Short Round, Belloq, Toht, Mola
Ram and a Thuggee Warrior.
To play the TSR role-playing adventures you need
the basic set with the resource manual.

The West End Games company produced the
successful Star Wars role-playing
games and started their Indiana Jones series
in 1994. The source of the many adventures
were various Indy novels and also the Raiders
of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones
and the Temple of Doom movies.
West End Games also released two Miniatures Packs
in 1994. These two packs each contained three figures. Indy, a Student and a Reporter in the first
Pack and Sallah, a Professor and a Spy in the
second Pack.
To play the West End Games RPG adventures you need the box set with the MasterBook and
the Indiana Jones Worldbook and later you could
also use the D6 System rulebook.

It was written by Dan Verssen with Holly Verssen, Rob Vaux and Chris Dornaus. The game contains a detailed narrative interspersed with the several sequences of gameplay including the exploration of a tomb, a chase sequence, and a battle inside of a temple. In 1937, Indiana Jones travels to a tomb in Africa in search of a Ceremonial Dagger. Later Jones travels to a temple to stop the cultists from summoning Hecate.
