Indiana Jones Explores is a series of six educational books designed to introduce historical cultures to younger readers. The series was written by John Malam and originally published as hardcovers from 1991-1994 in the United Kingdom by Evans Brothers Ltd with a poster inside the jacket. Two titles, Indiana Jones Explores Ancient China and Indiana Jones Explores Ancient Scandinavia, were advertised in the series that didn't see a release.

Meet Indy

After returning to teach archaeology at Marshall College following the war, Indiana Jones and his friend Mac go on a dig in Peru when they're kidnapped by Russians and taken to a large warehouse. Jones tries to escape but Mac reveals he is a traitor. Jones manages to get away and meets Mutt Williams. Williams is looking for his missing mother and Jones's old friend Ox who have been kidnapped by the Russians. The pair head to Peru based on a letter in Williams' possession showing that Ox was there looking for a crystal skull. Jones and Williams have adventures involving killer ants, scorpions and snakes and successfully find Ox, Mutt's mother, the skull and ultimately, more trouble.

Meet Mutt

Rebel, motorycle enthusiast and champion fencer Mutt Williams travels to Marshall College to meet Indiana Jones and enlist the man's help in finding his mother Marion Ravenwood, and Oxley who were kidnapped while looking for a crystal skull. Both are old friends of Jones's and, after he deciphers a letter in Williams's possession, Jones and Williams head for South America. They find the crystal skull in a Peruvian cemetery and while Mutt needs Jones's help against the people following them and giants ants, Williams helps Jones with a snake. The two go on to find the missing persons, but that's just the beginning of their adventures together.

Dorling Kindersley published an Indiana Jones DK Readers series of four books for beginning to proficient readers.
