Variety
reported that, Walden Media
picked up Harrison Ford for their
Civil War thriller
Manhunt. Harrison
Ford is set to play war hero Col.
Everton Conger, leader of the search
for Abraham Lincoln's assassin.
Manhunt
will focus on the tense days after
Lincoln's assassination in 1865
and follow the New York Cavalry
as it solves the mystery that eventually
leads to John Wilkes Booth, a conspirer
behind a plot that threatens to
plunge the nation back into war.
Col. Everton Conger was in command
of the troops when they tracked
down Booth to a Virginia barn 12
days after Lincoln was shot.
The
film will be produced by Lawrence
Bender with Mike Rich (Finding
Forrester) writing the screenplay.
No news on when Manhunt
will start production yet.
This
film will be based on James L. Swanson's
upcoming book Manhunt: The
12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer,
an hour-by-hour account of the search
for Booth, to be published by William
Morrow in February.
Fun
fact is that Steven Spielberg is planning
to make a film based on Abraham Lincoln's
life, with Liam Neeson playing the
legendary president.
Thanks
to Brett Hopkins for the news. |

McQueeney
died Sunday at St. John's Hospital
in Santa Monica after a brief illness.
She was 77. McQueeney was Harrison
