elsewhere is reporting that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom
of the Crystal Skull is being prepped for duplication and prepared
for its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. With a running time
of 2 hours and 20 minutes this will be Indy's longest "running"
time. Here is how Indy:s previous adventures clocked in:
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) 1 hour and 55 minutes
- Temple of Doom (1984) 1 hour and 58 minutes
- Last Crusade (1989) 2 hours and 7 minutes
- Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) 2 hours and 20
This running time adheres to Indy's co-creator, George Lucas' previous
testaments to a movie's length saying that they should run no longer
than two hours and 20-25 minutes or it gets too much for an audience
to sit still. Hence, the Star Wars saga did not go the
Lord of the Rings route with 3 hour plus running times.
Indyfans will surely not care if they sit a little longer in their
seats t watch Indy's return to the big screen. Besides as with all
of Indy's big screen adventures, they sit on the edge of their seats
because of all the thrills and action flying towards them -- it's
almost like a new kind of 3-D "dangerous, death-defying, delightful
Fans had better order the large bag of popcorn for this trip!
